  While vacationing in Kihei I really wanted attend an Easter service. I found this church through a google search. From the moment I drove in I felt welcomed by many smiling faces. The worship was inspirational and from the heart. I also felt very encouraged and challenged through the word! Afterwards I was invited to participate in a potluck and the pastor and some of the church attendees stopped to talk to me and welcome me! Sometimes it's hard to walk into a new church on your own especially as a single person but if this is your situation, I can attest to the fact that you will feel welcomed here. Aloha God bless!

  Before traveling to Maui I researched churches on the Island to find a place for my wife and I to worship with fellow saints. Our back round is Charismatic, having both been saved in the 70's and meeting each other as singles at church. We have been married since 76 and one of our Great Passions is to Worship God together. The name, The Church of the Awakening, intrigued me so we decided to visit.
  We were there on Mother's Day the 14th of May. We got there early and were greeted by many welcoming, friendly, and loving people. They did not have their full Worship team but still it was a sweet time of praise and worship followed up with a truth filled sound word that came with the right balance of truth, love, and grace. If you are looking for a place to put down roots; I would highly recommend this church.

  This church is the real deal. If you're looking for a place to have a genuine connection with other people, The Awakening is the best place I've found on Maui to do it. Come as you are. Board shorts and slippers are worn regularly here. Fair warning: This isn't the kind of church where you can slip in and out without being noticed. We're excited that you're here, and we're going to show you what Aloha really looks like. So come on down, enjoy the service, and get to know some locals. We're excited to meet you!

  Hmm, where do I begin ... how about the parking lot ~ where I was greeted with kindness, & welcomed in - the Hawaiian praise song so blessed to be a part of that what a gift !! The praise & worship felt right at home such beautiful voices such amazing prayer - The pastor spoke with so much wisdom about loss & blessings my heart so needed to hear - This man spoke of Authenticity in his church. & he showed it as well For a man of God to not hold back a tear when his heart was broken was so magnificent !!! It allowed the church to feel & be accepted for we all have some sort of brokenness in us ~
  I was visiting Maui to put some of my moms ashes in the ocean & heal from a broken marriage the message was God ordained, you can tell when a preacher is prayed up you can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit when people are living right. I pray to someday return to live in Maui & become a member of this church.

  This church is really special. I was in and out of incarceration and homelessness. This church and its people welcomed me and loved on me when I needed it most. They introduced me to Jesus and guided me in my walk with him. That was 4 years ago. You would never guess my past if you met me now. The power of God is amazing. The Awakening Church is a blessing.
